Being a fine art landscape photographer is sometimes like being a wedding photographer. A wedding photographer is always on the move...constantly working the crowd looking for "that shot". So is a landscape photographer except the venue is measured in square miles. I love the hunt during any time of day but especially the golden hours before sunset and after sunrise. The pressure is on just like a wedding to find all the good shots when the light or moments are right. Allow complacency to set in and its over with. Might as well pack it up and head into town for a cold one. Not every photograph is a good one so its necessary to take lots of photos. Like a songwriters book of unpublished music so is a photographers collection of unprocessed photos. I fell upon this photo one night after revisiting this shoot in Crested Butte. I love how Gothic Mountain looms in the background like a dormant volcano and the innocence of the garden of lupine dare it to erupt.
